Blockaid and MetaMask: A Poor Integration Combination

Here’s a prime example of companies entering the market and trying to shift the blame onto others, while we suffer reputational damage.

A few days ago, I noticed that our contracts 0xaFCC12e4040615E7Afe9fb4330eB3D9120acAC05 (PirateCash), 0x5F980533B994c93631A639dEdA7892fC49995839, and 0xCbFB0D98151D03eF8bB71fA668F57Df5E3fb4673 started encountering issues with token operations in MetaMask.

This started after the exchange ByBit posted a message about the launch of the new token Pirate Nation but mistakenly tagged us.

Similar issues were also encountered with other exchanges, such as Coinbase Pro.

Given that MetaMask and Blockaid are shifting blame onto each other, our team suspects that Pirate Nation is behind this because they are unhappy with being mistakenly promoted. However, they should understand that the ticker PIRATE was unique in 2018, and by exploiting opportunities on CMC to add their token, they introduced their own token using our original ticker.
